2010 WALKING TOUR FINDER

Walking a World of Adventures... Follow Your Dream

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?

WALKING THROUGH SOME OF MOST SCENIC VISTAS IN THE WORLD. MAKING MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME...

SELF-GUIDED WALKING TOURS

If you are comfortable on your own in a country with or without knowledge of the language (English gets you almost everywhere these days), then you may want to consider a self-guided tour. The savings are great and they leave almost anytime you want to go. The trails in Europe are well marked and the tour packet contains detailed directions and maps. Your luggage is transported to the next hotel each day so all that you carry is your lunch, water and a few snacks along the way. You must be willing to walk on rainy days.

GROUPS

We can tailor any of our trips to meet your group's needs.  If your group is ten or more, you can select your own departure date and alter the itinerary to your liking. We would enjoy working with you in planning your dream vacation.

GUIDED WALKING TOURS

WorldVentures Guided Walking Tours, unlike our guided cycling tours, are not led by WorldVentures staff members. We have partnered with local tour companies in the region of the walk and they operate these tours with their own regional guides. Walking tours are much more intimate than bicycle tours and, we feel, require someone who lives in the area to really give a feel for the fauna and creatures who share the living space. These guides are all fluent in English and you may find people from many nations on the tour - hopefully, your new found friends.

Untouched Landscapes on the Czech and Bavarian Borders.

Only a few Austrian landscapes are so untouched as the region of the Bohmerwald. Silent woods, rolling hills, the rivers "GrolSe and Kleine Muhl" invite you to discover the beauty of the Bohmerwald. This is tour of moderate difficulty with rolling countryside and a few steep climbs ranging from 9 to 16 miles and 5 to 8 hours walking time. The countryside is lightly populated and remains very much in its natural state. You will pass through quiet villages located north of the Danube along the borders of Austria, the Czech Republic and Bavaria. This is a trip for those who want to "get away" from the constant din of modern life. It passes along two rivers, through forests, tiny villages with friendly people in an area that is little known to outsiders. Beer lovers will enjoy the local beers served in the cafes along the way and, of course, this is still Austria so the coffee shops are always at hand.
